My works use humor, expression, and theatricality to present ideas of fear, pain, and a search for place. I have used them as a method of research into these subjects as a fork into mythology and nature, employing a mix of various techniques and mediums such as sculpture with recycled materials, hand-drawn illustration, and the use of various print formats (i.e., Riso and Screen Printing). At the base of the thought is the alter ego "Lo Kef Li", which allows me to both hide behind it and continue to delve deeper into my creative research. Lo Kef Li is almost a foreign body - an outside force allowing me to work through the things that I cannot. The alter ego requires me to create in an anonymous fashion - to protect the sensitive parts of myself from the world, yet at the same time, presenting them with open arms. My art is and has always been an obstacle for me - at the same time, both a safe space and a minefield.
